Eternal Caves Add-On

Treasure Chests

Mechanics

Treasure Chests are exploration-based rewards that generate inside structures in most biomes. Each chest is locked until the player has visited a specific set of biomes.
Treasure Chests appear in four variants, with unlock requirements ranging from 2 to 8 cave biomes. Variants that require more biomes generally contain better rewards.

Solving the Chest

After obtaining a Treasure Chest, its item description will list the cave biomes required to unlock it.
To open the chest, the player must visit each listed biome while carrying the chest in their inventory. As each required biome is visited, its name in the chest’s item description turns green. Once all required biomes have been visited, the chest can be placed on the ground to release its loot.
Note: Treasure Chest progress is only tracked while the chest is carried directly in the player’s inventory. Chests stored inside shulker boxes, bundles, or other containers will not progress.

Treasure Reward

The rewards contained in a Treasure Chest depend on the specific cave biomes required to unlock it. Different biome combinations can produce different loot.
In general, chests that require more cave biomes have access to a larger reward pool. Possible rewards include gemstones, cave crops, minerals, and other rarer cave-related items.
Once a Treasure Chest has been opened and its rewards collected, it cannot be reused. To obtain more rewards, a new Treasure Chest must be found. Good luck!
