Materials & Gear

The Materials and Gear system adds a custom underground progression path built around material tiers and gem upgrades.
Materials are custom ores found underground, starting with Titanium Ore as the entry point into the progression. Once mined and smelted into ingots, they can be used to craft equipment such as tools and armor, each tier offering improved stats over the last. Each ore can only be mined by the previous tier or higher.
Pro Tip
An early Silk Touch enchantment is extremely valuable, as it lets you collect ore blocks ahead of time and save them until you have the required tier to mine them properly.
Higher-tier materials are harder to find, the deeper you venture and more risk you take the more you will be rewarded.

Material Tiers and Effects

Each Tier unlocks more gem slots and stronger Stats. (Lowest to Highest.)

Titanium Forge

Anything crafted with the Titanium Material needs to be crafted in the Titanium Forge, a custom crafting table.

All material armor tiers also have their own animations and particles.

The Forge Forge is expensive to craft, but it can also be found in
Dwarven Civilization
s.
Custom tools for example use Titanium Rod instead of normal sticks for increased strength and therefore cannot be crafted in a normal crafting table.

Special Equipment

Some sets are not part of the main ore progression, but are made out of more organic materials.

Chitin Armor

Chitin is dropped as loot from insect like mobs.
Effect: Nearby insects ignore the wearer.
The following hostile mobs will not attack a player wearing Chitin Armor:
  • Sand Critter
  • Lava Spiderling
  • Screecher
  • Leviathan
  • Tall Crab
  • Bone Spiderlings
  • Bosses, such as the Bone Spider or Lava Widow, still attack normally.

    Mummy Armor

Can be crafted out of linen.
Effect: Shields the wearer from Mining Fatigue.
This protects against the Mining Fatigue effect found around some structures. The more armor pieces you carry, the more the effect is reduced.
